Sometimes advice comes from the places you'd least expect. Tonight I heard a little bit of wisdom that was attributed to a humble-yet-strong woman of legendary talent. No matter what your struggle is, I think this says it as well as anything:
"Hunker down and press on"--June Carter Cash

And you heard that at tonght's Golden Globes!
My favorite advice along these lines came from a smart Southern lady at my church. During a time of discord she advised us to "Shut up and be gracious!"
Dopey me isn't awake yet. As soon as I saw the photo, I thought, is that her husband!!!???
Oh well, first day back to work is rough.
Holy crap! I'm not that old...not dead, for that matter. Pics of my family are to the right on Flickr.
it's what you gotta do!
I needed that this morning. Maybe today I'll change my clothes (it's been one of the weeks - 2 days in - already).
Yay for the Golden Globes. They actually got it right. That movie was awesome and June is one of my heroines, musically and otherwise.
Sounds just like something my dad would say. I love that guy.
I'm hunkering....
My mom always used to say, "Press on, McDuff."
True. My personal favorite quote (that I made up) is when life throws you a curveball, start beating people with your bat.
Jane Seymour said that June Carter once told her that too. :)
Love the blog!
