From my driveway

I stood on my driveway this evening as the last day of February faded and the first breath of Spring was warm and inviting.

Gorgeous. When we were in Washington last week, we were mesmerized by the beauty of it. Yet, we know that it's too easy to be so used to the beauty around us that we miss it. We did that when we lived in Okinawa, until we were close to leaving and I tried to soak it all in. Thanks wordgirl for the reminder -- tomorrow, I'll look for the beauty around us here.

Lovely! I really like the trees. In florida everything is palm, scrawny pine or moldy looking swamp oaks.

That's the best climbing tree I've ever seen. Did/do your boys live up in there?

Gorgeous pictures, but just a sad reminder of how far away spring is up here.

It's so lovely to see trees with leaves on them at all. Tink, I'd settle for palm trees too :o)

So what you have to do is make sure they never, never overbuild in your area, and don't think it can't happen. In my mother's time Queens, NY was farm. In western Ireland they are draining the swamps and building houses, so protect what's yours.
